What Has Been Said About Man In Surah Adiyat? Surah Adiyat (Arabic: سورة العاديات ) The verses of Surat talk about man, his material attributes, his relationship with Allah, his attachment to the world, and his love for collecting money and wealth.

The Prophet urged us to read it because of its spiritual benefits.

If Allah helps his servant to obey him and read his Quran, then this is evidence of his love and choosing to be among his elite.

What is the main theme of Surah Al Adiyat?

The verses of Surah Al Adiyat talk about the consequences that may befall people when they deny the existence and oneness of Allah.

When you confine your life to the world and what is in it, you have lost your relationship with Allah and the misery of life.

It also talks about people being preoccupied with the wealth and blessings that Allah has bestowed upon them, so they become preoccupied with them from worshiping Him.

He threatens His servants with a torment that awaits them in the last of them, and Allah knows what happens in their chests.

The verses were able to describe the infidel man in this world and his love for money, his crawling after it, and his denial of the existence of Allah and his blessings, and all of these attributes link the owner to loss and punishment.

Why the Surah was named Al-Adiyat?

The reason for the name is due to the beginning of Al Adiyat Ayat, which is al adiyat.

By regular, he means fast running, and the speed with which the horses were distinguished when they attacked the enemy for the sake of Allah.

Where was Surah Al Adiyat revealed?

Jaber bin Zaid recommended that this surah used to be probably have been printed in Mecca, so he believed that the order of Surat Al-Adiyat in phrases of revelation is the fourteenth, as it was once printed after Surah Al-Asr and earlier than Surat Al-Kawthar, and each Surahs had been printed in Mecca.

Why was Surah Al Adiyat revealed?

He narrated that the reason for the revelation of Surat Al-Adiyat to our master Muhammad was good news for him of the victory of our master Ali over the enemies.

The Messenger sent an expedition to a neighborhood in Kinana, and the wait was long and no news of them came back, Which forced him to send our master Ali with the Muslim army in secret to the enemy in an unknown way.

The victory was at the hand of Ali and he defeated the enemies of the Muslims, so Gabriel descended upon our master Muhammad with those blessed verses, glad tidings of Ali’s victory.

When the good news came to him, he called out to the Muslims and prayed with them with that surah, and after he finished, his companions asked him about that verse, so he told them that it was good tidings from Allah of victory.

When was Surah Al Adiyat revealed?

Surah Adiyat is one of the Meccan surahs that were revealed during the period from the beginning of the revelation and the migration of the Companions to Habasha, where it was revealed after Surah Al-Asr.

Is Surah Adiyat makki or madani?

Opinions differed about this, as Ibn Abbas, Qatadah and Anas bin Malik said that it is Madani, while Ibn Masoud and Jabir bin Zaid said that it is Makkan.

How to memorize Surah Adiyat?

To be able to memorize Surah Al-Adiyat and teach it to your children, you have to follow this proven and effective strategy as follows:

1-By yourself:

  • Practice makes perfect, you have to record what has been memorized and listen to it four times a day.
  • Listen to Surah Al adiyat from a reader who loves you and enjoys reciting it.
  • You have to read and memorize it part by part and review what was saved before entering the new part.
  • Have your family join you in memorizing Surah Al-adiyat.
  • Select the part to be memorized and read while performing the five daily prayers to make it easier to repeat and memorize.
  • You read it carefully until you grasp what it means, then repeats it until you have caught all of the sentences.
  • Ayahs are frequently learned in a 20-minute session.
  • try to get a sense of the rhythm. Pay close attention and then recite the entire text aloud.
  • Pronunciation may be improved by using an audio aid. 
  • The Holy Quran may be memorized by hearing it several times. Having audio material with accurate pronunciation.
  • on hand will help you learn more quickly,
  • especially if Arabic is not your first language.

2- Islamic way:

  • Participate in the memorization sessions in the mosque and the dhikr and interpretation sessions.
  • Reading and memorizing the Quran after Fajr prayer is one of the best times in which the rate of concentration and memorization increases.
  • The memorization of the  Sura adiyat was based on one copy of the Quran and focused on the use of visual memory, as it is one of the high strategies in improving the skill of memorization and learning.
