Annapurna base camp trek 15 days is one of the most beautiful treks combined with a magnificent view and mixed cultures unparalleled by any other treks in the Annapurna Region of Nepal. Annapurna base camp trekking starts with a scenic drive towards Pokhara to Nayapul leaving Kathmandu valley. Passing numerous unique settlements, waterfalls and checkpoints reach the vantage point of Poon Hill to sight the beauty of starting the Annapurna range. Forward from there, we head towards Annapurna base camp to sight 360° view from high elevation throughout towering peaks. After enjoying some breathtaking moments, we also cross natural hot spring ponds on the way while developing our trek forward. Day 1: Arrival day in Kathmandu (1,300 m)
On the first day, our representatives will be there at Tribhuvan International Airport for your warm welcome and to shift towards a fine tourist standard hotel. This day, we arrange a schedule for discussing and introducing with trekking members.
Day 2: Kathmandu valley sightseeing and trek preparation
The second day after attending breakfast, we scheme for sightseeing towards major attractions throughout Kathmandu valley. Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Swyambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple) will be our targets of the day which are on a list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. After enjoying and exploring these wonderful spots, we return to preparing and finalizing our needs required during a trek. This night, we stay at the same hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 3: Drive to Pokhara (820 m)
The third day after morning breakfast, the trekking guide arrives with a private vehicle at a hotel for shifting you towards the bus station to catch tourist standard bus to reach Pokhara. Therefore leaving the valley, the bus follows west to catch Prithvi Highway towards Pokhara. On the midway, we stop twice for breakfast and lunch before stepping into Pokhara. Finally, after reaching Pokhara, we sight Fewa Lake in the remaining hours and stay overnight there.
Day 4: Drive to Nayapul (1,070 m) and trek to Tikhedhunga (1,540 m)
The fourth day after early morning breakfast, we drive towards Nayapul and finally, after steeping Nayapul, we begin our quick bag packing and arrangements to start our trek ahead. Developed trek from there, takes towards Birethanti for considering some formalities at the office of ACAP and continue to walk forward passing bamboo forests, waterfalls, farms and unique settlements takes to Tikhedhunga for stay overnight.
Day 5: Trek to Ghorepani (3,194 m)
Fifth-day leaving Tikhedhunga behind, early morning developed trail takes us to Ulleri (Large Magar Village) by crossing a stream. From there, upward ascends with the magnificent view of Annapurna south and many more bypassing numerous villages, Rhododendron, and oak forests take to Ghorepani, situated at top of the hill. This night will be spent at a lodge in Ghorepani.
Day 6: Hike to Poon Hill (3,210 m) and trek to Tadapani (2,590 m)
On the sixth day triggering Ghorepani, we walk early morning to reach Poon hill vantage point before sunrise, and while striking sunrise throughout Annapurna Himalayan Range with many other neighboring Himalayas makes your moment breathtaking. After enjoying some moment, we get back to Ghorepani for breakfast and continue hiking towards the east to reach Tadapani. Tonight’s accommodation and dinner will be arranged at a lodge in Tadapani.
Day 7: Trek to Sinuwa (2,340 m)
On the seventh day, developed walk through steep descent crossing rhododendron forest leads towards suspension bridge bypassing numerous terraced fields and waterfalls. Therefore, crossing the suspension bridge and walking miles up and downhill takes us to Chhomrong (on a lap of Annapurna massif) from where we descent following the stone steps trail to reach Sinuwa. The night will be spent at a lodge in Sinuwa.
Day 8: Trek to Deurali (3,230 m)
Eight-day starting walk is a bit easy from Sinuwa till bamboo, passing different settlements and steep stone staircase along crossing the suspension bridge and numerous of pleasing oak and rhododendron forests offer Dhobhan. A continuous steady and steep climb through the valley towards Himalaya and Hinku Cave takes to Deurali and this night will be spent at a lodge in Deurali.
Day 9: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130 m)
On the ninth day by leaving Deurali, a morning climb through an upward trail takes us to Bagar and a strenuous hike leads towards the base camp of Machhapuchhare (3,700 m). After observing stunning views of Mount Machhapuchhare (Fish Tail Mountain) with other numerous towering peaks around, we follow a wide trail that leads us to the Annapurna Sanctuary. Finally, after steeping our aimed destination (Annapurna Base Camp) greets us 360° vista from high elevation and this night will be spent at Annapurna Base Camp.
Day 10: Trek to Bamboo (2,340 m)
On the tenth day after inspecting the mighty Annapurna Sanctuary, we catch back our earlier developed trek and cross numerous waterfalls, caves, temples, and forests holding bamboo, rhododendron, and oak trees along passing numerous attractive settlements including Deurali and Dobhan, to reach Bamboo. Dinner and accommodation will be managed at the lodge in Bamboo.
Day 11: Trek to Jhinu (1,780 m)
On the eleventh day quitting Bamboo, we hike up to Khuldighar where the ACAP office and visit center is located along moving forward by passing Sinuwa, we hike down to the bridge across Chhomrong River to enter the beautiful Gurung settlement. From there, steep descent slides us to Jhinu Danda for relaxing your tired muscles by taking a dip in a hot spring. After a short time there, we move towards the lodge to spend overnight in Jhinu Danda.
Day 12: Trek to Pothana (1,890 m)
Twelfth-day leaving Jhinu behind, we step forward early morning passing through whitewashed stone houses and temples along crossing stone staircase to reach the bottom of a hill (Bhaisekharka). After that, vertical climb through the forest by enjoying the stunning view of Annapurna South takes to Pitam Deurali and following a stone-paved trail, we walk down to Pothana for staying overnight.
Day 13: Trek to Pokhara
On the thirteenth day, early started an easy walk from Pothana takes us to Dhampus village. Therefore, passing a small lake trail drops down to Phedi to catch tourist standard bus to reach Pokhara. Finally, after stepping into Pokhara, evening hours can be spent by enjoying with a crew member or exploring Pokhara. The night will be spent at a tourist standard lodge in Pokhara.
Day 14: Drive to Kathmandu
On the fourteenth day after sweet early morning breakfast, we move forward to catch a tourist standard bus towards Kathmandu leaving Pokhara. After reaching Kathmandu, you will be picked up by our private vehicle and shifted towards a fine tourist standard hotel throughout. Evening hours will be separated for discussing memorable moments of trekking along will farewell dinner on famous local restaurant enjoying Nepalese cultural dance and music with delicious Nepali dishes and night will be spent at a lodge.
Day 15: Departure day
On the last day focusing your time, you can go shopping to collect some gifts for your friends or family members. We help you with your necessary arrangements and pack-ups along with our private vehicle transfers you to the airport focusing your departure time. Our representatives will be there to wish for your safe flight and successful steps ahead.
Visa Information
All visitors are required to arrange a visa to enter Nepal. A Nepalese visa can be easily obtained upon arrival on arrival in Kathmandu at the airport or Nepalese embassy abroad. But nationals from Afghanistan, Iraq, Cameroon, Ghana, Somalia, Swaziland, Palestine, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Ethiopia, and Liberia cannot secure the Nepalese Visa upon arrival. The Visa can also be secured at the entry points at Nepalese borders. A valid passport for at least six months, a recent digital photo (size: 1.5" x 1.5") will be required and you can obtain visas for Nepal from the Nepalese Consulate in your country or upon arrival in Kathmandu Airport. Nepalese visas cost USD 25 for 15 days and USD 40 for 30 days to date.
Official Papers
Some of the required official documents are your valid passport, 4 extra passport-sized photographs (for trekking permits), travel insurance, airline tickets, and luggage tags. Visas can be obtained upon entry into Nepal.
Weather Information
Weather in the mountains is pretty difficult to predict. Nights are generally cooler and days are warm. Months of winter (January and February) are a bit colder but the days can be quite beautiful and warm if the sun is out. It snows during January, February, and December in the Himalayan areas.
Best time to travel
Nepal offers diversified geographical regions and so the climatic condition differs from the Himalayas to the plains. The climate varies as per the season. Nepal generally offers 4 seasons amongst which autumn and spring are the two most favorable ones for visiting Nepal. It is always wise to know about the weather and climatic condition of the place you visit. The best time to travel depends on your destination, activities, and season of travel. Our destination specialists will recommend certain travel times after learning more about your preferences. The favorable months for trekking and climbing are usually September – November, and February – April. The monsoon season is June – August.
Physical Fitness
Even though physical fitness plays an important role in trekking you don’t have to be a super athlete or a marathon runner to trek in Nepal. Many people of good fitness for their age can complete the trek. You can prepare yourself beforehand by doing some yoga which will prepare you for your breathing as you will be going to a higher altitude. Running or hiking to hills, going for a long walk will also help you. And if you live in an urban area running in the stairs of a tall building will also work better in keeping you fit for trekking. All through these preparations aren’t strictly compulsory, you can do well even when the preparations you do aren’t rigorous like that of some ultra-athletic person. Do these things at a moderate pace for two months or even less? And you are set to complete any trekking to Nepal.
Travel Insurance
Doing the insurance while trekking in Nepal is not compulsory but will surely help you a lot if you do one, as it covers any comprehensive expenses possible to acquire due to medical issues or accidents. Your travel insurance must protect air ambulance, treatment charges, rescue and evacuation, product cancellation and refundable charges, flight delays, and cancellations. We suggest you bring your travel insurance certificate or send us to scan copy and it must be issued from your homeland. We do not arrange or sell insurance so you can find your local travel insurance for this.
Vaccination for Nepal
All travelers should consult with their physician or update on vaccination requirements before travel. (Your doctor or health-care provider will determine what you will need, depending on factors such as your health and immunization history, areas of the country you will be visiting, and planned activities) For traveling to Nepal; we recommend you to take vaccination of Polio, Tetanus, Typhoid, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Rabies, etc, it is not really must but recommended.
Booking Process
While you chose which trip you wanted to go with, contact us at our head office, Thamel Marg, Kathmandu Nepal by email or phone, email is a more easy and clear option, as soon as we get your email or call, we will process your booking. We need a 20% booking amount to confirm your booking, the payment can be made through Bank transfer, Credit card payment (Master/Visa card), or through online money transfers also Money Gram, Western Unions, or others. After we get the 20% amount, we will confirm your booking and you will get the official booking and payment receipt. The final balance for the tour will be paid upon arrival in Kathmandu.
