They use the intelligent, self-propelled system primarily for retrieving shoeboxes as part of order picking. Conceptually, TORU is a so-called perception-controlled robot. This is able to perceive its environment through cameras, image processing, sensors and artificial intelligence, to interpret it correctly and to make decisions based on it.
