Ayatul Kursi ( arabic :اية الكرسي )  the Verse of the throne is the ayatul kursi verse 255 of Surah Al-Baqarah which actually defines the Power and grandeur of Allah. Al-Baqarah is the second and biggest chapter of the Quran and includes 286 verses. It is of great importance to Muslims, it has great merit.

Our Messenger Muhammad(PBUH) named the verses of the Ayatul Kursi as the master of all verses and it’s the most important verse in the Holy Quran. We have learned to read the verse of the ayat ul kursi when we feel sadness and despair, especially fear, and many hadiths speak of its virtues and importance. All Muslims around the world memorize it by heart.

Its virtues appear, as hardly a house is devoid of it, whether the household – old or young – repeat it or find it hanging on the walls of the house. We may find many who put it in their workplace or stick it in their car, hoping for blessings and goodness from Allah from reading this verse.

The verse speaks approximately how not anything and no person seems to be corresponding to Allah.

This is one of the best-regarded verses of the Quran and is broadly memorized and displayed withinside the Muslim world. It is regularly recited to keep off Jinn.

The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said, addressing the companion Ubai bin Ka’b, “Oh Abu Al-Mundhir! Do you know which verse of the Quran with you is greater? He said: “Allah and His Messenger know best.” He said, “O Abu Al-Mundhir! Do you know which verse of the Quran is greater with you? He said: “Allah does not.” There is no god but He, the Living, the Eternal. He said: He struck me in the chest and said: By Allah!  May knowledge bless you, Aba Al-Mundhir.”

Ayatul Kursi ( arabic :اية الكرسي ) This verse is ayah 255 from Surah Baqarah commonly referred to as Ayatul Kursi (meaning “The Throne”). It is likely the most well-known ayat across the entire Ummah, estimation is that hundreds of millions of people know it by heart. It would more difficult to find a believing Muslim who doesn’t know ayat ul kursi than one who does. This is something you really can’t say about many other verses from the Quran.

Ayatul Kursi means that Allah is Ever-Living, Self-Subsisting, and Self-

Sustaining. As such, He is ceaselessly wide conscious and alert in any other case the Universe will stop existing. Allah now no longer is afflicted by boredom as He takes super hobbies in His creation. Nor does He become bored due to the fact His life isn’t difficult to change. He is the First Cause of the whole thing and possesses endless power. He owns the whole thing and is the Master of the Day of Judgment. As such, we need to worship Allah and are seeking His help in all affairs. He is the Source of all understanding. Pondering over

that means of Ayatul Kursi opens diffused secrets and techniques and understanding of the Universe in our hearts, that is vital in a time whilst the forces of atheism are stronger than ever

Ayatul Kursi Blessings Benefit Merits cause of its importance as follows:

Let’s get acquainted with the great

Allah revealed ayat ul kursi because the polytheists began to worship idols, this is polytheism with Allah.

Although they said that they believed in Allah, they began to take idols as if they were bringing them closer to Allah and becoming an intercessor for them with Allah. They denied Allah from time to time, so Allah revealed the verse of the chair, despite There being other verses that talked about the existence and unity of Allah.

However, Ayatul Kursi was revealed to gather what is explained in all these other verses and to explain Allah’s power once again. That is why the verse in which the name and attribute of Allah are mentioned most is the Ayatul Kursi.

Ayatul Kursi was revealed to the Prophet at night time and was written down by Zayd, who was known as by our Prophet at that time. According to a rumor. ayat ul kursi was revealed at a dinner after the Hijrah.

When the Ayatul Kursi was revealed, all of the homemade idols that humans believed in the place of Allah and the kings who placed themselves in the place of Allah fell off their places. As they fell, the kings’ crowns rolled at the ground, and they were all confused with trouble. Again, in step with another rumor, Iblis, feared, stated to his humans, “Tonight a massive incident occurred. You men live for your places, I’ll tour around the sector and discover what occurred.

The devil traveled around the world and went to Madinah. “What came about last night?” he asked a person there.

And the person said: “The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: A verse from the treasures of the Throne was revealed and all of the idols in the world crashed to the floor.

Hearing this, Iblis spoke again to his tribe and informed them what came about. And also you Wonder yourself about:

Ayatul Kursi was revealed to the Prophet at night time at Madinah.

Allah – there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence.

Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep.

To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth.

Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission?

He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills.

His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not.

And He is the Highest, the Most Great

To know more information about Ayatul Kursi, such as the period of its revelation in terms of why, how, and when it was revealed, as follows:

After we know all this information about Ayat Kursi let us know Ayatul Kursi tafsir as Ibn Kathir:

Ayatul Kursi tafsir:

(Allah! None has the right to be worshipped but He) mentions that Allah is the One and Only Lord of all creation.

(Al-Hayyul-Qayyum) testifies that Allah is the Ever-Living, Who never dies, Who sustains everyone and everything. All creation requires Allah and relies on Him, while He is the Richest, Who needs nothing created.

(Neither slumber nor sleep overtakes Him) means, no shortcoming, unawareness, or ignorance ever touches Allah. Rather, He is aware of, and controls what every soul earns, has perfect watch over everything, nothing escapes His knowledge, and no secret matter is secret to Him. Among His perfect attributes, is the fact that He is never affected by slumber or sleep.

(Neither slumber overtakes Him) indicates that no unawareness due to slumber ever overtakes Allah. Allah said afterward,

(nor sleep), which is stronger than slumber. It is recorded in the Sahih that Abu Musa said, “The Messenger of Allah delivered a speech regarding four words:

(Allah does not sleep, and it does not befit His majesty that He sleeps. He lowers the scales and raises them. The deeds of the day are resurrected in front of Him before the deeds of the night, and the deeds of the night before the deeds of the day. His Veil is light, or fire, and if He removes it, the rays from His Face would burn whatever His sight reaches of His creation.)

(To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth) indicates that everyone is a servant of Allah, a part of His kingdom, and under His power and authority. Similarly, Allah said,

(There is none in the heavens and the earth but comes unto the Most Gracious (Allah) as a servant. Verily, He knows each one of them and has counted them a full counting. And every one of them will come to Him alone on the Day of Resurrection (without any helper, or protector or defender)) ﴿19:93-95﴾.

(Who is he that can intercede with Him except with His permission)

Similar as:

(They cannot intercede except for him with whom He is pleased) ﴿21:28﴾.

These Ayat assert Allah’s greatness, pride, and grace, and that no one dares to intercede with Him on behalf of anyone else, except by His permission. Indeed, the Hadith about the intercession, states that the Prophet said,

«آتِي تَحْتَ الْعَرْشِ فَأَخِرُّ سَاجِدًا، فَيَدَعُنِي مَا شَاءَ اللهُ أَنْ يَدَعَنِي. ثُمَّ يُقَالُ: ارْفَعْ رَأْسَكَ، وَقُلْ تُسْمَعْ، وَاشْفَعْ تُشَفَّعْ قَالَ: فَيَحُدُّ لِي حَدًّا فَأُدْخِلُهُمُ الْجَنَّة

I will stand under the Throne and fall in prostration, and Allah will allow me to remain in that position as much as He will. I will thereafter be told, “Raise your head, speak and you will be heard, intercede and your intercession will be accepted”. The Prophet then said, “He will allow me a proportion whom I will enter into Paradise.”)

(He knows what happens to them (His creatures) in this world, and what will happen to them in the Hereafter) this refers to His perfect knowledge of all creation; its past, present, and future. Similarly, Allah said that the angels proclaimed;

(And we (angels) descend not except by the command of your Lord (O Muhammad ). To Him belongs what is before us and what is behind us, and what is between those two, and your Lord is never forgetful) ﴿19:64﴾.

(And they will never compass anything of His Knowledge except that which He wills), asserts the fact that no one attains any part of Allah’s knowledge except what Allah conveys and allows. This part of the Ayah indicates that no one ever acquires knowledge of Allah and in His Attributes, except what He conveys to them. For instance, Allah said,

(But they will never compass anything of His knowledge) ﴿20: 110﴾.

(His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth.)

Waki` narrated in his Tafsir that Ibn `Abbas said, “Kursi is the footstool, and no one can give due consideration to ﴿Allah’s﴾ Throne.” Al-Hakim recorded this Hadith in his Mustadrak from Ibn `Abbas, who did not relate it to the Prophet. Al-Hakim said, “It is Sahih according to the criteria of the Two Sahihs, and they (Al-Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.” In addition, Ad-Dahhak said that Ibn `Abbas said, “If the seven heavens and the seven earths were flattened and laid side by side, they would add up to the size of a ring in a desert, compared to the Kursi.”

(And He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them) meaning, it does not burden or cause Him fatigue to protect the heavens and earth and all that is in between them. Rather, this is an easy matter for Him. Further, Allah sustains everything, has perfect watch over everything, nothing ever escapes His knowledge and no matter is ever a secret to Him. All matters are insignificant, modest, and humble before Him. He is the Richest, worthy of all praise. He does what He wills, and no one can ask Him about what He does, while they will be asked. He has supreme power over all things and perfect alertness concerning everything. He is the Highest, the Greatest, there is no deity worthy of worship except Him, and no Lord other than Him.

(And He is the Highest, the Most Great).

Many hadiths show the importance of Ayat Ul Kursi as follows:

Virtues Hadith:

Ubayy b. Ka’b said: Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: O Abu’ al-Mundhir, do you know the verse from the Book of Allah which, according to you, is the greatest? I said: Allah and His Apostle (may peace be upon him) know best. He again said: Abu’l-Mundhir, do you know the verse from the Book of Allah which, according to you, is the greatest? I said: Allah, there is no god but He, the Living, the Eternal. Thereupon he struck me on my breast and said: May knowledge be pleasant for you, O Abu’l-Mundhir!

This proves Ayat al Kursi to be the most virtuous/greatest verse of the Quran al Kareem.

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Apostle ordered me to guard the Zakat revenue of Ramadan. Then somebody came to me and started stealing the food. I caught him and said, “I will take you to Allah’s Apostle!” Then Abu Huraira described the whole narration and said: That person said (to me), “Please don’t take me to Allah’s Apostle and I will tell you a few words by which Allah will benefit you. When you go to your bed, recite Ayat-al-Kursi, (2:255) for then there will be a guard from Allah who will protect you all night long, and Satan will not be able to come near you till dawn.” (When the Prophet heard the story) he said (to me), “He (who came to you at night) told you the truth although he is a liar; and it was Satan.”

One night he planned to guard it, but he saw an (animal) in the shape of a young boy. Ubay Ibn Ka’b offered him greetings and he replied. Ibn Ka’b asked him whether he was a human or Jinn? He replied: He was Jinn! Ubayy asked him to show his hand, Ubayy saw that his hand was like that of a dog and it had hair on it as a dog does. Ubayy asked: Are Jinns created in this fashion? He replied: Some Jinns are even stranger than me. Ubayy asked: Who compelled you to do this (i.e. steal from my field) he replied: I have heard that you love to give Sadaqa so I thought of taking (stealing) something from you. Ubayy asked: What is it that can protect us from you? The Jinn replied: “Ayat al Kursi” which is in Surah al-Baqarah, whosoever recites it in the evening will be safe from our Sharr till the morning, and whosoever recites it in the morning he will be safe from us till evening. On next morning Ibn Ka’b went to the Prophet (Peace be upon him) and told him about this, the Prophet (Peace be upon him) said: The “Khabeeth told the truth” [Imam Jalal ud-din Suyuti in Tafsir Durul Mansur, Volume No.2, Page No. 5]

however, this variety is every so often two, every so often five, every so often ten. However, the call of Allah is cited in 17 instances in Ayatul Kursi. On the opposite hand, 6 of the attributes of Allah Almighty may be discovered withinside the Ayatul Kursi.
