Upon arrival at Tribhuban International Airport (TIA), our support team will hold your name plate or Nepal Mother House play board among bunch of people. Our assistance will greet you and transfer to the Hotel.

After refreshment at the hotel, visit our office or manager about your trip briefing. Then, time for Trekking preparation and permit work. Please, check your insurance details and have a copy of your travel medical insurance policy with you.

This is your trip begging day, so you need to weak up bit early today to catch morning flight Kathmandu to Lukla. After 25 to 30 minutes scenic flights, you will get in to Lukla (2,800m), meet our helper and ready for trekking. You will enjoy the walk through the tea houses and hotel at Lukla with fresh air and beautiful Mountain View of Number and Khumbila. The trail descends through the jungle after passing Pasang Lhamu Gate just above the Chaurikharka Village and make a descent towards the Ghat (2,530m) via Chheplung village. The trail follows the bank of Dudh Koshi River with several Buddhist rock painting (Mane Stone) and Mane wheels and monastery as remarks of Sherpa villages. After 3 to 4 hours walking you will get in Phakding (2,640m), this is ideal place to stay for acclimatizing to propose. Rest of the time is free; you may visit Monastery or wondering village to see Sherpa culture or visit snooker house and Irish Pub. Stay overnight at tea house.

Note: There is not direct flight Kathmandu to Lukla during trekking high seasons (spring and autumn) due to heavy traffic at Kathmandu Airport. So, you need to fly Ramechhap to Lukla after 4 to 5 hours 132km drive early in the morning to the Manthali Airport.

After having breakfast at tea house where you are staying, your trekking will start. Aster cross-Suspension Bridge on Dodh Koshi River (Milk River), again the trail goes through left side of the River banks and arrives in Tok Tok with a mini hydro power station. End of the village, the trail ascend with pain forest, where you can see abstract sex figure rock, local believe that this was created by power of “Guru Rinpoche” or alternatively known as Guru Padmasambhava, to keep on continuing nature existence. After few minuties walking with sound of the river, you will get Bangkar beautiful waterfall just in front of tea house. Often you have excellent views of Thamserku Peak and green jungle. Then the trail slightly dropped before to cross the bridge. This is second bridge on the same river. The trail gently climbs to Chhumowa Village, with an agricultural project farm. It continues to the Monjo (2,840m) Village, where the Sagarmatha National Park Area (1,148 sq km, established in 1976) is starting. The warden checks your National perk permit to enter and for few unites walking some distance up you will be at Jorsale (2830m) after cross the river. You will have lunch at Jorsale due to no tea house before Namche. Among several suspension bridges, five are on the Dudhakoshi River. The last (fifth) bridge is known as Hillary suspension bridge on the Dhudhkoshi, where this is junction of Bhotekoshi river as well. This is situated about 150 meters from water surface; this might be thrilling walk on it. Then you will climb through the alpine forest making turning many bends, there is another long climb from where you can have a first view of Mt. Everest, over the right Nupste (7,879m) on your trip. After 5 to 6 hrs total walking the trail reaches the street of Namche Bazaar at last. There is a market at Namche Bazaar on the every Saturday, selling many grocery and live hood goods from Nepal and Tibet. You will Stay overnight in Namche Bazaar and witness the snow capped mountains and Sherpa Heritage.

The morning is beautiful with sun shine mountains view in front of you. You will have breakfast with worm hospitality of Sherpa people and begin the day trip to Tengbuche. The trek with a pleasant walk on a trail through the forest with magnificent views of mountains until Kenjoma, where the trails are joins from Khumjung and coming from Gokyo Lake. After passing a small settlement at Sanasa, the trail drops towards Phunki Thanga (3,250m) via cross the bridge. After lunch at Phunki Thanga, again the trail climbs steeply through forests on the Tengbuche monastery, situated at 3,867m. The view from Tengbuche is rightly deemed to be one of the world’s most splendid. Including Mt. Everest (8,848m) and other mountains such as; Kwangde (6,168m), Tawache (6,542m), Nupste (7,861m), Lhotse (8,516m), Ama Dablam (6,812m), Kangtega (6,782m), Thamserku (6,623m), Kusumkangaru (6,367m) Kwangde, Tawachee, Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Kantega and Thamserku provide a amazing panorama view. Ama Ddablam is eye catchy from Tengbuche. Every early morning and evening there is praying ceremony at Monastery, you may participate for this event. At first, the trail descends down from Tengboche, through the rhododendron forest to Deboche. This is most probability spot to encounter Musk deer and Daphe (national birds of Nepal). Crossing a decor bridge over the raging Imja Khol River, the trail gently ascending to the Pangbuche Village. Mt. Ama Dablam will disguise appearance in the whole day, in different angle is most attraction for this day. Today, your lunch will be ready at Somare and Orsho village with amazing view surrounding with you. Finally, you will get at Dingboche an elevation of 4,410 meter “world highest farmland” just bottom of the Ama Dablam. It is a gateway to Chukung, Kongma La (5,535m) and farther beyond for the most challenging traverses towards Makalu area and Hinko Valley via Sherpani col (6, ro100m) and Amphu Laptsa pass (5,780 m). If you have time, you may visit Nangkar Tsang Peak (6,616m) and Pokhalde (5,806m) as day hike. You will stay overnight at in Dingbuche.

This is another beautiful day to the Lobuche. After taking breakfast enjoying with mountains view, the trail heading you slope of mountains through the Yak Pasture at Dusa (4,530m) backward scenery of Ama Dablam (6,812m), Kangtega (6,782m), Thamserku (6,623m), Kusumkangaru (6,367m). Pheriche village can see below the left hand side, from where the rocky peak trying to measure height with Tawache (6,542m). You will gradually climb up until Duglha offering stunning views of Cholatse Peak and Chola Tsho Lake, nearby Chola Pass Trail. From Duglha/ Thukla Tea house the trail ascending steep up about 30 to 45 minuties to the Khumbu Glacier before reaching the village of Lubuche. The hard step up trail pay you amazing view of mountains and landscape. There are several monuments around top of the Thukla Pass (4,830m), climbers who dead during his/her journey to expedition. In this stage the effects of the altitude will be kicking in, and you can expect colder nights. You will stay overnight at Lobuche just beneath the Lobuche East Peak (6,119m).

After breakfast the trek gently continues climbing and sometime directly ascent to nearby glacier. The trail going to Gorakshep is rocky and windy, but it offers good views of Mt. Pumori and there are beautiful views of the Everest Base Camp farther. After having lunch at Gorak Shep, you will ready for dreaming destination Mt. Everest Base Camp (5,360m), it takes about 3 to 4 hours both way from Gorak Shep. The path from here can be misleading so make sure to follow the lead Sherpa. Every year the trail changes due to the movements of the glacier. The walk is quite strenuous due to the high altitude and thin air. The walk passes over rocky dunes and moraine and streams, till you reach the base camp. Khumbu Ice-fall, Glacier Lake, Glacier can observe with mirror view. Right now you are on the lap of the Mt. Everest; there are more than three hundred tents during the spring season for the expedition. You may live talk with your friends, family or especial one, if you have bought internet data. As Gorak Shep is last tea house of EBC trek, most of the people will stay at a list one night here. It takes 1 ½ to 2 hours to get most popular view point Kalapathar (5,550m) from tea house. If you have time, you may visit this view point as well. After make dream achievement in your life, you will walk back to Gorak Shep for another excitement tour by Helicopter flight to Lukla. You have aerial view of mountains and your walking foot prints. Stay overnight at Lukla.

Normally, the flight Lukla to Kathmandu is in the morning due to the wind in the afternoon; sometime the flight time can be delayed due to not favorable weather and other reason beyond our control. Anyway, we will fly back to Kathmandu, and your guide will transfer you to the hotel then you may have time to relax after the long journey and take back your breath and rest at your hotel rest of day. Today is day of ending a journey of Himalayan, so we would like offer you farewell dinner in Nepali typical Restaurant and hand over you Trip Certificate, Trekking Permit and TIMS Card for memory of Nepal trip.

Note: Regarding the Kathmandu flight; you already know that there is not available direct flight Lukla to Kathmandu during trekking high season due to traffic at Kathmandu. So, you might be flying Lukla to Ramechhap 20 minutes short flight and drive back to Kathmandu 132 km taking 4 to 5 hours like you have done last time Ramechhap to Lukla flight.

In this pleasant day you may have full day at leisure either relax at the hotel or explore the around Thamel. Today is free or last minute shopping for souvenirs or gift to your family, friends or relatives for you until departure flight/drive. Our assist will be transfer to the International Airport for your departure flight to your onwards destination, taking with you the memory of a life time.

Lukla is a getaway of the Everest Base Camp Trek, located north-eastern part of Nepal, at Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality of the Solukhumbu District, Province No. 1. Lukla Airport is known as Tenzing–Hillary Airport. There are regular flights departures every day from Kathmandu to Lukla and fly back to Kathmandu during daylight in good weather. Mostly the flight operated in the morning from 6:00 AM, sometime the late morning and mid-day will blow wind and poor visibility by cloud. Lukla is situated 2,800m meters elevation beneath the huge mountains with narrow Dhudhkoshi Valley. Sometimes the flight could be interrupted due to unfavorable weather and might be delayed or canceled flights for few hours and a few days. In this situation, you need to take a helicopter flight to Surke, which is one and half-hour below the Lukla, or if you have enough time, you may take an alternative trekking route in the other region. Lukla flight is a short and scenic flight by small plane can get Lukla in 25 to 30 minutes.

Recently, there is not available Kathmandu to Lukla flight direct flight due to heavy air traffic at Kathmandu Airport. For this, you need to drive 4 to 5 hours to the Manthali Airport at Ramechhap and 20 minutes flights to Lukla.

The weight while flying to Lukla is up to 15 Kg (10 kg main baggage +5 kg hand per passenger/flight) per person. If your gears are more than weight limitation, then you can take things with extra payments which would be about NPR 100 to 200 per kg, but the extra weight charge subjected airline company. The extra weight batter to transfer by the same flight of your tickets, otherwise, sometime the lockage won’t become in Lukla Airport at a time is in case of delayed flight due to weather or any reason.

The mobile phone does work in the Mt. Everest Base Camp and even Kalapatthar. In Nepal, we have the most popular two different phone companies (NTC and NCELL), who provide services in the Everest region also. You can buy a mobile SIM Card upon arrival at the airport or nearby your hotel even a grocery shop. Make sure that before buying data, how much data you need. And for the Everest Base Camp Trek, batter to buy NCELL SIM due to good reception coverage.

There is an alternative Wi-Fi service available in the Everest region; every tea house will provide a top-up internet card from the Everest Link Company. This internet service valid shortens territory with limited data, so please be sure that how much data you need for one place. The data you buy in one village/place won’t be validated for another place. It would be batter talk with our Guide or hotel owner before buying Everest Link data.

Regarding the Battery charging, you can charge most of the tea house, where supply electricity by mini-hydropower, if there is no electricity service, they have a solar panel in the tea house, where you can charge your gadget battery with per hour cost. Normally they take charge per hour basic each gadget battery about NPR. 100 - 500. If you have your own power bank or solar panel to recharge the battery would be best. The battery should be kept warm while getting at a high altitude otherwise the battery will running out due to freezing cold.

Everest is home to the great Sherp’s, who has been practicing Buddhism for the century and following rituals and beliefs. They have their own culture, custom, law, and belief, so while visit in the region everybody need to follow norms and value to respect locally. You can see the monastery, Chorten, Mane wall, prayer flag, and rock panting with the precious Buddhist mantra in every village. While passing these sacred sites, you should keep them right and walk clockwise to respect their culture and tradition.

While entering the Gumba and temple, you should take off the shoes and follow the instructions that you will see outside on the wall. If you visit in the praying ceremony, you don't make noise, not touch the offering fruits or other things to the Buddha and ask the people before taking a photograph.

Everest base camp trekking is the most popular trekking route in the world. This trek can do as tea house basic with well-managed. The accommodation and food standard control by Sagarmatha national park, Sagarmatha pollution control committee, and the local Sherpa community. At every stop of the trek, you will easily find the tea house and restaurants. The tea house/lodge has a private room with a twin bed sharing or double bed with an indoor common bathroom. If you would like to a luxury hotel, some places you can stay in a good hotel with luxury amenities. There are several tea houses and lodges entire Base Camp Trek, but during the trekking peak season you need to make a prior reservation otherwise hotel might be full.

Regarding food in the region, you can choose from the menu cards with various options. The foods served by the well-trained cooks with hygiene and a good test. You may test some local food and drinks also for a new experience. All the food serves fresh where as possible, our Guide also checks the food which is batter to have. Sometimes meat items won’t be good duet carrying all the way below Lukla, and this might because sick and interrupt your destination. We are suggested to avoid the meat items and practicing to be vegetarian food.

For the drinking water; you can buy a bottle of mineral water every tea house and shops. The cost of the water will raise along the elevation, so to save money and mitigate environmental pollution, we at Nepal Mother House strongly suggest you buy boiled water or using tools (Steripen/Iodine/chlorine/water purified the machine/ sterilizer.) to purified water.

*Notice on Kathmandu to Lukla Flight Issue:

It is informed that the Government of Nepal has announced a Lukla flight from Manthali, Ramechhap due to heavy air traffic at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) at Kathmandu, the flight to Lukla will conduct from Ramechhap in anticipation of further notice. Ramechhap is located 139 km East-North from Kathmandu with approximately 4 to 5 hours drive from Kathmandu.

As alternatively, if you would like to direct a flight from Kathmandu to Luka, then there are Helicopter flights which can be made on a 5 passenger basis with an additional 500 US$ per person for one way to change your airplane flights to the helicopter. We will do our best to coordinate with the airline to make groups at the airport for the helicopter flight, but we can’t give guarantee it. Fly to Lukla from Manathali airport, Ramechhap is almost always guaranteed unless sometime the flight is delayed or canceled due to not favorable weather at Lukla.

Travelers are suggested to inform us of the chosen alternatives for the flights to/from Lukla affected due to possible delays or interruptions. For more details please go through the Lukla Flight from Ramechhap.

**Note: Sometimes we could face the problem of internal flights to/from Lukla delayed by few hours or canceled for a day because of bad weather. It happens very rarely, but it could even in the best trekking season also as you know how climate change is affecting our globe. Therefore, we always recommend you to add one supplement night in Kathmandu after your base camp trek if possible (just in case). If everything runs smoothly, you can enjoy other activities like sightseeing, rafting, shopping, as you wish in that additional day overnight at the hotel.

Regarding the flight weight while flying to Lukla to KTM; the weight limit: 10 kg main baggage and 5 kg hand per passenger/flight, total 15 Kg per person. This is including down jackets and sleeping bags as well.

If you are worried about lockage weight, which is more than the Lukla flight. Regarding storing the bag; you are right! Light travel is the best way to explore. If you have some gears which are not used during the trek, you can leave these things in an extra bag either in our office or in the hotel where you are staying, per your comfort. It is safe either place to store. Whiling storing the bag at Hotel, don’t forget to take a bag tag, which you need to show this tag while receiving your bag after the trek.

Yes, there is a 220 Kg weight limitation while flying back from Everest Base Camp/Gorak Shep to Lukla by Helicopter Flight. The weight of 220 Kg must be between three passengers including a Guide and your lockage. If the weight is more than this you need to pay an additional charge, so try to make it lightweight were as possible.
