Fabric finishes are an important part of cotton buyers. Top textile companies in India increase the fabric’s productivity, aesthetics, and value by modifying the fabric’s texture, color, and utility. Fabric finishing is essentially referred the final part of fabric production, which comes after the initial formation of textile, called greige cotton fabric.
Fabric Finishing and Treatment Processes
Before the treatment process, we have to ensure the fabric is constructed based on the requirement established by the customer. This would include greige yarn selection, density, weight, stability, and stretch.  cotton yarn manufacturers in india
Once the Greige cotton yarn is ready, we can process it for the final product using different treatments, like dry or wet and cold or hot. Different treatments are sometimes combined to meet the fabric’s aesthetics and functional requirements placed by top textile companies in India.
The fabric finishing process comprises the following steps:
Washing and Drying
The greige cotton fabric is washed and cleaned with special detergents to remove dirt, chemical, and contaminants. Then it is dried in finishing plants using heat and air.
Heat Setting
The heat setting ensures the fabric doesn’t shrink or wrinkle and maintains the required structural integrity.
Calendaring
In this process step, large, heated pressurized rollers compress and smooth the fabric by condensing its fibers.
Dyeing and Coating
Customized colors are prepared to dye the fabrics using one of the following techniques  – pad, paddle, jet, and beam.
Once the fabric is dyed, it is then coated to change its characteristics and appearance. Common coating compounds include plastic, oil, wax, glue, shellac, and starch. Others include moisture control, anti-microbial, flame resistance, UV resistance, etc.
Surface Alteration
The surface of the fabric is modified to improve its ability to bond or adhere to any stated surface. Treatments like Plasma, Corona, and Flame are used to modify the face of the fabric and supplied to cotton buyers for the final production.
