The present continuous is a verb tense that is used to depict ongoing circumstances or activities, as well as routine actions and occurrences that are still being seen. It employs the present form of the verb (V1 Form) and adds the suffix -ing, resulting in v1+ing.
Eating, sleeping, reading, and coming, for example.
When we want to employ a verb in the third person singular, we use the v1+ing form of the verb as the assisting verb.
E Example – Shyam is sleeping.
If we are trying to use a verb for third person plural, then we use the v1 + ing form of the verb and are as the helping verb.
Example – They are still sleeping on the same bed.
If we are trying to use a verb for first person plural, then we use the verb in the v1 + ing form of the verb and are as the helping verb.
Example – We are eating pasta.
If we are trying to use a verb for first person singular, then we use the v1+ing form of the verb and am as the helping verb.
Example – I am eating pasta.
If we are trying to use a verb for second person singular, then we use the verb in the v1 + ing form of the verb and are as the helping verb.
Example – You are still drawing.
