Place Value Worksheets
What is place value?
Every digit in a number has a different value. Since it depends on the place or location of the digit, it is called place value.
For example, in the number 1824, 4 is at the unit place, also known as the ones place, thus its value is 1×4 = 4.
Similarly, 2 is in the tens place, thus its value is 2×10 = 20.
If we have to calculate the value of 8, we can calculate it as 8X100 = 800 since it is in the hundreds place.
The place value of 1 is 1×1000 = 1000 since it is in the thousands place.
