Instead, it locks the screen and displays a fake message explaining that the user is violating the law. Hackers claim that victims have been threatened by hackers who claim the FBI or CIA has locked their computer. The only way to get control is to pay between $100 and $500 via MoneyPak or another service. This cyber threat is available in multiple forms, and the different AV engines can recognize if it's under different names.
