If your printer is faulty and your Windows cannot connect to the printer, consider the steps given below to fix the problem.
- Disable any third-party antivirus software on your computer and check whether the issue is resolved. Also, disable the Windows Firewall.
- For a wireless connection, make sure to connect both devices to the same Wi-Fi network.
- For a USB connection, connect the printer and computer directly and avoid using a hub or switch.
- For an Ethernet connection, check whether the network cables are connected properly. Replace the cables if they are defective.
- You need to connect the network cable to the modem and fix the other end to the WAN port on your router.
- Connect another network cable to the LAN port on your router and fix the other end to your computer.
- Once you have made the connection, you will be able to print from your computer.
- If the Access is denied message appears on the screen, press the Start menu and search for Add printer. Then, click on it from the search result.
