So taking a step back and looking at the way you came to your position now. What was your goal and what were the most important areas of focus D2R Items that you realized when you were assuming this role of leadership in Blizzard?
I believe the thing that was really most important--and I'm sure that's why Mike [Morhaimewho was co-founder and former president of Blizzarddecided to pick me for the job was it was the reality that Blizzard is a truly developer-led organization and that the products and the game focus that we have is there at all levels and is really important and very strong.
One among the very first actions I did was to bring Ray Gresko on as the chief development officer. Then, I bring on Allen Adham to the executive team to raise the percentage of employees that are creating games, and have recently made games significantly higher. The focus is back on our core and a focus on what makes Blizzard's great games. So that's the beginning of beginning of what we tried to achieve.
Throughout this year, that we've got going on. We've examined various things which we were doing and that we felt like we ought to do more of. We examined various things that we were doing that we believed we should do less of. And we've come up through the introduction of Diablo Classic, which has been an absolute joy for us. We also attended the Diablo League season two as we prepared to move into the end this year's season at BlizzCon. So , it's been a good ride here.
If you don't have a clear understanding of what Blizzard is doing now, what would consider your thoughts on the recent shakeups at the top or layoffs? What sort of direction you would like to see it go into?
I believe the most important aspect that is true, that has been consistently proven and will remain so that we're an values-driven and values-driven company. We take a lot of our big strategic decisions with that perspective.
As I look back when you have a founding member who has been in the chair for more than 28 years, I believe it's normal and normal to feel fear, uncertainty as well as doubts regarding how we're going to continue to move forward buy d2r items.
