Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) Batteries Inhibit Electrolyte Movement Within The Container, Confining Hydrogen Near The Plates
The lead plates of the battery are reduced during usage to produce lead-sulfuric oxide

The lead plates of the battery are reduced during usage to produce lead-sulfuric oxide, which is what powers the device. Once the battery is charged, this process is reversed, converting the lead-sulfuric oxide to pure lead and sulfuric acid. Because of a flaw in the reverse process, hydrogen gas is released before it has a chance to fully combine with the water inside the battery container. A vent is utilised to release the pressure in order to prevent the buildup of hydrogen gas, which could result in the battery exploding.

In order to prevent these issues, Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) Batteries are used. These batteries hold the hydrogen close to the plates so that it is easily available for recombination as the battery is refilled. This building considerably decreases water loss throughout the discharge/recharge cycle, allowing the battery to be sealed and becoming maintenance-free (water addition is not required). As a result, we may utilise this kind of battery in any orientation or position without worrying about spills.
