Professional Services Associated With Home Infusion Therapy for Certain Drugs
Medication or biologicals are administered intravenously or subcutaneously to a patient during Home Infusion.

Medication or biologicals are administered intravenously or subcutaneously to a patient during Home Infusion. The medication (such as immune globulin, antivirals), tools (such as a pump), and supplies are required to perform home infusion (for example, tubing and catheters). Nursing care is also required to instruct and educate the patient and caregivers on how to safely administer infusion drugs at home.

The Home Infusion Therapy benefit covers professional services related to Home Infusio for certain intravenous drugs and biologicals, as well as professional services (including nursing services), furnished in accordance with the plan, training and education (not otherwise covered in the payment for the DME), remote monitoring, and other monitoring services for the provision of Home Infusion.
