Commercial Refrigeration Equipment
Refrigerators and freezers used in supermarkets, convenience stores, dining establishments, and commercial kitchens are referred to as commercial refrigeration equipment. Commercial Refrigeration Equipment can be either "self-contained," in which case the refrigerated case and entire refrigeration system are merged into a single physical unit, or "remote condensing," in which case the compressor and condenser are placed apart from the refrigerated case. Reach-ins are self-contained units with either solid or glass doors that are frequently used in restaurants. Supermarkets frequently employ remote condensing refrigerator display cases, which can either have doors or be open cases.
