A Highly Reactive Chemical, Butadiene Must Be Handled Carefully To Avoid Accidents
Butadiene

Butadiene is also used in the production of other industrial chemicals such as adhesives, resins, and lubricants. It is also used to make certain drugs and other medical products, as well as in the production of certain types of rubber-based products like condoms. The most common method for producing Butadiene is through the cracking of natural gas or crude oil. This process involves heating the hydrocarbons to high temperatures, which causes them to break down into smaller molecules. Butadiene is then separated out from the other products of the cracking process through a series of distillation and separation steps.
