Animal Nutrition types:

·         Autotrophic:

The Greek words autos (self) and trophe (nutrition) are the origin of the phrase "autotroph". An organism produces its own nourishment from basic raw materials when it practises autotrophic nutrition.

Two types of Autotrophic Nutrition:

§  Chemosynthetic 

§  Photosynthetic 

·         Heterotrophic: Heterotrophic nutrition is the process through which organisms rely on other species for their feeding needs.

 Types of Heterotrophic Nutrition:

§  Saprotrophic

§  Mixotrophic

§  Parasitic 

§  Holozoic
