Epitaxial Wafer Market
The epitaxial process involves layering an epitaxial wafer, commonly referred to as an epi-wafer, over another silicon wafer. A silicon wafer's polished crystal surface is covered by a monocrystalline silicon layer during the epitaxy process. This wafer serves as a semiconducting substrate for uses in photovoltaic, photonic, and microelectronic devices. Epitaxial Wafer come in two varieties: homoepitaxy and heteroepitaxy. Although it may be difficult to manufacture thick epitaxial wafers at scale, the method is not a bad idea for some applications.
