Using A Combination Of Radars, Lidars, And Cameras, Sensor Fusion Can Create A Single Picture Or Model Of A Vehicle's Environment
Sensor Fusion

Sensor Fusion is the process of combining input from various sensors in order to lower the level of uncertainty that can be present when a robot performs a navigational motion or a task. In order for the robot to navigate and behave more successfully, sensor fusion aids in creating a world model that is more realistic.

The following are the three main strategies for merging sensor data:

·       Redundant Sensors: The same data is provided by all sensors for the entire world.

·       Complementary Sensors: Different (disjoint) sorts of information about the world are provided by the sensors.

·       Coordinated Sensors: The sensors sequentially gather data about the environment.
