Blister packs are commonly used for pharmaceutical tablet, capsule, or lozenge unit-dose packaging. Blister packaging can provide barrier protection and tamper resistance for shelf life requirements. In the United States, blister packs are primarily used to package physician samples of drug products or over-the-counter (OTC) products in pharmacies. Blister packs are the most common packaging type in other parts of the world because pharmacy dispensing and re-packaging are uncommon. A blister card, blister strip, or blister pack are all names for a series of blister cavities.
