The choice to recreate the traditional style of the old infrastructure
Blizzard is WoTLK Classic Gold announcing a release schedule for World of Warcraft Classic, as well as a closed beta and a series of testing tests before the launch in August. A recent experience playing WoW Classic was a clear and uninspiring variant of the game, with even basic quest-tracking being a slightly less clearly marked. This is a WoW game designed for people who have played the game since its beginning, and who want to experience that same feeling.
Director of production Patrick Dawson and WoW Classic lead engineer Brian Birmingham explained the motivations for this ambitious retrofitting project of the popular MMORPG, and the benefits they hope it brings to gamers.
"The people in the community have said, we'd like Classic WoW. We looked at the game, it was an unfinished world, with hacks to teleport. It was not up to the standard benchmark that Blizzard is today," Dawson told P2Pah. "Well what if we utilized our modern infrastructure? Can we retrofit that? We set off on an adventure of a few weeks to find out what that universe was."
The choice to buy WOW WoTLK Classic Gold recreate the traditional style of the old infrastructure brought about some important decision factors. For certain players the rough edges represent the authenticity of the original. Blizzard was left to decide what was appropriate and what wasn't and the decision came down to tough judgment decisions.
