Steamforged Games has also announced the first image and details for the Dark Souls tabletop roleplaying game to be launched in spring 2022. It was first announced in December and followed by an unexpected trailer launch Steamforged is now able to confirm Dark Souls: The Roleplaying Game will be a stand-alone RPG powered by fifth edition rules which are enhanced with Dark Souls mechanics.
The book draws inspiration from the rich lore and award-winning gameplay of the Dark Souls video games by From Software and Bandai Namco Entertainment within the lavishly illustrated hardback core book, players can find customized character classes with a brand-new system of magic and a complete bestiary packed with Dark Souls creatures.
To date, Steamforged's Dark Souls tabletop range has sold more than 500,000 units, with a an estimated retail value of more than $40 million. Mat Hart, Creative director and chief creative officer of Steamforged Games, stated: "Dark Souls has been an essential IP for Steamforged from the beginning and one that is close to our hearts. Therefore, getting to bring Dark Souls to the tabletop as a game for roleplaying is an absolute thrill for us and for the fans."
The news is announced alongside the release of an upgrade for Old School Runescape with a special focus on Iron Man. Along with bug fixes, the new update features a group chat and a loot broadcast with quest completion, combat achievement and level milestones receiving an announcement in the chat. The update will be released in the next few days, which will focus on the expansion of Cheap RuneScape Gold storage in groups along with emergency teleport shards as well as visiting the houses of the group members.
