Shea Butter Market
Shea Butter is an extracted product that is a vegetable oil or fat containing triglycerides. It is an ivory or off-white coloured compound extracted from the nut of Vitellaria paradoxa (African Shea tree). Shea Butter is a sustainable source of edible fat and is used as a vegetable source of stearic acid in the cosmetics and chocolate industries. According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), natural cosmetics sales increased by 6% in Europe in 2015, while they increased by 7% in North America, compared to a 2.5% increase in global natural cosmetics sales. A classification system for Shea butter was proposed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and other companies.
