Transfer of the drug into the patient's body for the intended therapeutic effect is referred to as Pharmaceutical Drug Delivery (treatment). Two categories of drug delivery systems exist: traditional drug delivery systems and new drug delivery systems. The most prevalent ways to distribute drugs through different channels are oral (through the mouth), topical (on the skin), and transmucosal (nasal, buccal, sublingual, vaginal, rectal, and ocular).
For the benefit of the patient, this system will assist in modifying drug absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion. Pharmaceutical Drug Delivery systems improve patient experience, medicinal effectiveness, and absorption. The administration of medications can be changed and improved using a variety of dose formats. Parenteral dose forms, solid dosage forms including capsules and pressed tables, and various liquid dosage forms are all common drug delivery methods.
