NEET UG 2022: How Many Seats Are Up For Grabs This Year?

The NTA (National Testing Agency) will be releasing the official answer key and results for the NEET exam shortly (Answer Keys – 30th August 2022, Results – 4th September 2022). This year’s NEET saw unprecedented competition with more than 18 lac aspirants fighting it out for top MBBS and BDS seats in India. The MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) will be conducting the counselling process for seats under the AIQ (All India Quota) and state specific bodies will manage the seat allocation under the SQ (state Quota) [15% seats are reserved under AIQ and 85% under SQ]. The NEET counselling process is conducted over multiple rounds and is concluded by a stray and mop up round to complete seat allocation.

·         MBBS Government College Seats: 48,000+

·         Number Of MBBS Government Colleges: 322

·         MBBS Private College Seats: 43,500+

·         Number of MBBS Private Colleges: 290

·         BDS Government College Seats: 3,500+

·         Number of BDS Government Colleges: 50

·         BDS Private College Seats: 23,000+

·         Number of BDS Private Colleges: 263

Candidates are advised to keep track of the latest updates on the official website https:neet.nta.nic.in. The announcement for the official counselling portals will be made after the results are declared.

The NEET (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test) is a national level entrance exam for admission into MBBS and BDS courses in India. The exam is conducted by the NTA (National Testing Agency) on 17th July 2022 and had more than 18 lac applicants this year.
