In The Repair And Building Of Cartilage, Glucosamine Plays An Important Role
Glucosamine

Numerous studies on Glucosamine have yielded conflicting results. Although a 2018 review published in the journal Orthopedics suggests the benefits may be attributable to a placebo effect, it may have health benefits, including a reduction in pain. In particular for knee osteoarthritis, glucosamine may be helpful. An early study found that various glucosamine formulations may improve function and lessen pain. A total of 2,570 adults from 20 randomised controlled studies were examined in the study.

Yet, there is conflicting data on these claims despite some very encouraging findings. These findings were contested by one of the largest glucosamine research, which was funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The two-year Glucosamine /Chondroitin Arthritis Intervention Study (GAIT) examined the efficacy of glucosamine and chondroitin in treating knee pain in 662 individuals with knee osteoarthritis.
