Atherectomy Devices are used to diagnose atherosclerosis. Peripheral artery disease known as atherosclerosis occurs when plaque builds up in the arteries, obstructing blood flow to the body. If this plaque-like buildup of undesirable fat is not removed promptly, it may result in a blockage that could be fatal. The procedure known as atherectomy involves removing the plaque from the artery walls and widening them. The plaque is sliced with a blade attached to a catheter that is placed through the groyne. The leftover material is collected in a bag that is later withdrawn from the catheter. Depending on the severity of the patient's problem and the doctor's preferences, a variety of gadgets can be employed in this process.
