The International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) estimates that around 1.1 billion people worldwide will be blind by the year 2020. In order to preserve their productivity and improve their eyesight, it was calculated in their research that between 2 and 3 billion people need access to eye care facilities.
According to the IAPB study, cataracts will continue to be the primary or secondary cause of vision loss in all globe regions in 2020, with between 15,175,052 and 78,785,970 people worldwide experiencing cataract-associated blindness and moderate-to-severe cataract progression. As a result, the frequency of cataracts among the world's population would increase the need for Cataract Surgeries, which in turn would increase demand for a variety of products related to cataract surgery and hence increase the demand for Cataract Surgery Devices.
