CUET Phase 2 Kicks Off With Many Glitches

The second phase of the CUET exam began on a sour note as candidates experienced various issues on the first day itself (phase 2 started on Thursday, 4th August 2022). A summary of the key issues has been highlighted below

CUET UG Phase 2 Issues Highlights

·         Several centres had notices stating that the first slot of the exam had been cancelled and rescheduled to August 12th. Candidates also reported that the exams in the second slot were cancelled after they had been seated for the test

·         Candidates who had opted for the aptitude test in English reported that their exams had been cancelled repeatedly (few reporting that they would now have to appear for the third time)

·         Several students who had travelled from other states continue to face logistical issues due to cancellations. Many students have not been allotted centres in their home state, due to which they need to repeatedly make extensive travel arrangements for the exam

·         The NTA has issued a formal notice stating that the cancelled exams will be held between August 12th & 14th 2022

The cancellations and issues on exam day are adding tremendous stress to the students. The NTA must take immediate action and alleviate the concerns of students.

The CUET (Central University Entrance Test) is a national entrance exam to more than 90+ universities (including 40+ central universities). The exam serves to standardize the fragmented undergraduate admissions process in the country through a single test. The exam is being conducted by the NTA (National Testing Agency) across two phases and had more than 1.4 million applicants this year.
