How are building aggregates made?
When producing construction aggregates, the quarrying process involves a number of steps. For recycled materials and materials from quarries, there are various steps.
Process for Quarried Aggregates
1. Planning - Prior to beginning quarrying or mining, a plan will be made. In order to ensure that no unnecessary extraction is carried out, this plan will try to map out the site's activities.
2. Stripping - The site must be stripped in order to gain access to the raw material. Overburden refers to Construction Aggregates material's top layer. Removing the material's top layer. We call this overburden.
