Chemical Indicator Inks Classification
Chemical Indicator Inks Market

Chemical indicator inks are also classified based on their response time. Class 1 indicators change color within a few seconds of exposure to the sterilization process. These indicators are used to verify that the equipment has been exposed to the sterilization process. Class 2 indicators change color after a specified exposure time, usually several minutes. These indicators are used to verify that the equipment has been exposed to the sterilization process for the correct duration.

In addition to the types and response times, chemical indicator inks are also classified based on their placement on the equipment. Process indicators are placed on the outside of the equipment to verify that the sterilization process has occurred. Internal indicators are placed inside the equipment to verify that the sterilization process has penetrated the internal cavities.
