Examiners of Digital Forensics come from a variety of fields, including law enforcement, the private sector's computer and software industry, the military, academia, and the world of private detectives. While some examiners are largely self-taught, others have received significant training from public or commercial organisations, or they are recent college graduates from one of the digital forensics programmes offered by a number of colleges. Digital Forensics may be the exclusive responsibility of certain examiners who work full-time, but it may also be a secondary or side employment for others who work part-time or very sometimes.
