An Ebola Vaccine Is A Vaccine That Provides Protection Against Ebola
Ebola Vaccine

Due to the possibility of pig farmers being exposed to the virus due to close proximity of humans and pigs on farms, the recent discovery of the Ebola virus in swine has caused serious alarm. Laboratory workers who perform research with the contagious Ebola virus are another high-risk group. Despite the fact that research staff conducts tests while wearing protective gear and in a biosafety level 4 biocontained environment, exposures have happened to this population, mostly as a result of unintentional needle sticks. Also, it would be a good idea to vaccinate military personnel who could be subject to an Ebola virus bioweapon attack.

Most NHP studies use intramuscular injection to administer Ebola Vaccine. DNA vectors were delivered using a needle-free injection device at a dose of 8 mg per inoculation in the original heterologous prime-boost vaccination in primates, while rAd vectors were delivered using a standard needle and syringe at a dose of 10^12 particle units (PU). A second pilot dose-ranging study in cynomolgus macaques showed that a 100-fold dose reduction to 10^12 PU did not affect the single-dose rAd Ebola virus vaccine's ability to provide 100% protective effectiveness.
