Astronauts today employ two types of spacesuits when exploring space. The first is worn on the inside of the spaceship throughout launch, climb, re-entry, and landing. The other is used for spacewalks, which is a Spacesuits version of the original EMU.
The first piece of the suit is referred to as a cooling garment. This is comprised of stretchy spandex and water tubes, and it covers the entire body except for the head, hands, and feet. This suit contains approximately 300 water tubes, through which cold water helps to regulate body temperature and remove excess heat. Built-in vents remove sweat and improve circulation.
