A neurologic test called EEG (Electroencephalography) Devices uses electrical activity in the brain to measure and record brain activity

A variety of brain disorders can be assessed using the EEG. When epilepsy is present, seizure activity will show up on the EEG as quick spiking waves.

Depending on the size and location of a person's brain lesion—which can be caused by a tumour or stroke—their EEG waves may be unusually slow.

The test can also be used to identify other conditions that affect brain activity, such as Alzheimer's disease, some psychoses, and narcolepsy, a sleep disorder.

A technique for capturing an electrogram of the brain's spontaneous electrical activity is called EEG (Electroencephalography) Devices. The postsynaptic potentials of pyramidal neurons in the neocortex and allocortex have been demonstrated to be represented by the biosignals picked up by EEG.
