Rats are good at hiding thus making it hard for you to spot them in place until they start causing damage. They do this by chewing through many products including wires and even conduit pipes. Many rat problems related to rat infestation can be solved by rat trapping but how does rat trapping work?
Rats usually live in burrows under your home or at some hidden corners where they find their food source, breed and raise young ones. This is why rat trapping becomes necessary so that the rat problem can be eliminated in the long run. There are many types of rat control products and traps available in different stores and online including poison baits and glue boards which when used together make rat killing a less daunting task.
Before we proceed on with rat control guidelines it is important you know exactly what type of rat you are dealing with for effective results later on. Rats come in four (4) major varieties: the house rat, brown rats, black rats, and field rats. The house rat is usually found in homes among other buildings while the common rat types are found outside in farms and fields where they breed, feed, and live.
House rats tend to be more than 2 feet long when fully grown including their tail which adds up to about 12 inches. Field rats on the other hand grow between 12-18 inches long not including their tail length. These two (2) rat varieties are usually bigger compared to others who rarely grow beyond ten (10) inches including their tail length. They feed on different foods but still cause damage around your home especially if left uncontrolled or raccoon trapping.
