Surah Al Ikhlas, also known as The Sincerity, The Purity, and Surah Tawheed, is one of the most significant chapters in the Quran. The 112th chapter of the Quran, known as Surah Ikhlas Ayat,
consists of four verses that stress Allah’s unity and oneness. Some scholars think this Surah was revealed during the battle between Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the Quraysh when they contested the unique characteristics of the deity worshipped by Muhammad (PBUH). However,
it is not just the name of this Surah but also the title of its contents that emphasize Tawheed (the undeniable notion of monotheism and the oneness of Allah).
In response to a challenge from the Quraysh over the distinctive characteristics of ALLAH, Muhammad reportedly asked them to worship.
Therefore, Surah al-Ikhlas is titled as such because it is devoted solely to the teachings of Tawhid.

Al-Bukhari To support its assertion that a third of the Quran is included in the third chapter of the book of Allah, Sahih Al-Bukhari contains several Hadiths. One-third of the Quran could be memorized in one night by the Companions of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). After their shaky response, he remarked that Surah Al-Ikhlas is one-third of the Holy Quran.
As the Prophet (PBUH) stated in Musnad Ahmad, those who complete the entire Surah Al-Ikhlaas 10 times would get a palace in Heaven from Allah. Furthermore, in Sahih Al-Bukhari, the Prophet (PBUH) said that a man’s affection for Surah Ikhlaas would lead him to Jannah.
Surah Al-Ikhlas is said to contain Allah’s most excellent name, according to a Hadith in Sunan Abi Dawud. Therefore, a request made using it will result in an answer, and a request made in response to it will also result in an answer.
Allah adores one who recites Surah al-Ikhlaas.
A guy who enjoyed reciting the Surah Al-Ikhlaas in Salah, according to Sahih Al-Bukhari, was praised by the Prophet (PBUH).
Every night before going to sleep, the Prophet (PBUH) would cup his hands together, recite the al ikhlas surah, Al-Falaq, and An-Nas, and blow over it, following which he would massage his hands over as much of his body as he could. Similarly, the Prophet (PBUH) instructed us to recite these three surahs every night in Musnad Ahmad (as well).
And now, the Tafsir of the Surah al-Ikhlas is complete.
The monotheism of Allah is proclaimed in this passage. All types of polytheism and idolatry are ruled out by this statement. Only Allah is referred to as “The One” in the Quran, where the term “Ahad” means “The One.” Allah explains: [2] If there were Allah’s other than Allah in the heavens and the earth, they would have been destroyed. Allah, the Lord of the Throne, is so magnificent that they can’t even begin to explain it.
There are no companions, partners, or assistance for Allah. Only Allah is deserving of worship; hence all praise and adoration must be offered to Him. “And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him,” states Allah in Surah al-Isra.
One of Allah’s Perfect qualities is mentioned in this verse: As-Samad. Another one of Allah’s names is As-Samad.
Translators of the Quran have referred to Allah as The Eternal Refuge, The Self-Sufficient, The Absolute, and the One on Whom All Creation Depends and to Whom All Creation Turns for Fulfillment of Their Desires and Needs.
As a result, while the entire world is reliant on Allah to meet its basic necessities, Allah himself needs no one. “Truly, my Lord is free from all wants and supreme in honor,” says the surah an-Name (verse 4).
As stated in this Quran, Allah did not give birth to anybody. To put it another way, there is no beginning or end to Him. Even if Allah is the Creator of all things, no one has the capacity to create Him.
Isn’t it self-evident that Allah, the Almighty, is supreme over everything else? Well, that’s a given. Polytheists and idolaters, on the other hand, wrongly attributed to Allah partners and children (Nauzubillah!). There is no space for doubt in this respect, however, in this specific verse of Surah al-Ikhlas.
None of His creation was similar or similar to Him, neither in His Names, nor in His Attributes, nor in His Actions, Blessed and exalted is He, and sanctified.
And the matter is more general than that, as there is no one equal to him, i.e., he has no equivalent, nor similarity, nor likeness, nor equal in all of the foregoing of his oneness, steadfastness, and uniqueness in his names, attributes, sayings, and actions.
Our kids, regardless of whether they were born Muslims, newly converted Muslims, or ex-Muslims who reverted to Islam should be taught this Surah.
For example, a non-practicing born Muslim who disobeyed both his parents and his own intrinsic desire to follow Islam, as I witnessed him do today in Masjid, taking Shahadah.
As a result, he refused to embrace Islam as a religion.
He finally found Islam after many years of rejection, deviance, drifting, and loss. He reverted to Islam after doing extensive research and reaffirming his confidence in Allah, the One and Only Allah.
It’s clear to everyone that Allah, the All-Powerful and all-sufficiency Who has neither a spouse, son nor peer or competitor, deserves to be adored and followed.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

The four verses of Surah al ikhlas were revealed in Makkah. If you recite this Surah, you get the same reward as reciting a third of the Quran. In learning portions from the Noble Quran, many Muslims begin with this Surah since it is one of the most often repeated in the Quran.
According to the following two hadiths, surah al ikhlas is equal to a third of the Qur’an.
“A guy heard another man recite (in the prayers): ‘Say (O Muhammad): “He is Allah, (the) One,”‘ Abu Said Al-Khudri said. (Qur’an 112:1), which is repeated several times.
A day after that, he went to the Prophet and told him about it in the hope that it would suffice for him to only recite the Surah on its own.
“By Him Whose Hand my life is in, this Surah is equal to one-third of the Qur’an,” said Allah’s Prophet. Al-(Sahih Bukhari’s Al-Bukhari)
Other sources report the Prophet asking his companions: “Is it difficult for any of you to recite one-third of the Qur’an in one night?” (Abu Sa’id Al–Khudi)
To which they said, ‘Who among us has the capacity to do so, O Allah’s Prophet?
Revelations of the Makkan Surahs of the Qur’an were made to affirm the oneness of Allah, the belief in Him, His Books, His Messengers, and the other pillars of religion.

According to Abu Said Al-Khudri: “A man heard another person reciting (in the prayers): “Say (O Muhammad): “He (Allah) is (the) One.” (Quran 112:1).
So, the next day, he went back to the Prophet and told him about it, as though reciting the verse was not sufficient.
“By Him Whose Hand my life is in, this Surah is equal to one-third of the Qur’an,” said Allah’s Prophet. (Al-Prophetic Bukhari’s Tradition)

To which they said, ‘Who among us has the capacity to do so, O Allah’s Prophet?
A third of the Qur’an, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), responded. In accordance with (Sahih Al-Bukhari),
Lady ‘A’ishah narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to cup his hands together and blow into them after reciting surat al ikhlas, Surat Al-Falaq, and Surat An-Nas, and then rub his hands over whatever parts of his body he could reach, starting with his head, face, and the front of his body. This is what he used to do three times.” Al-(Sahih Bukhari’s Al-Bukhari)
To all those who worship anything or anybody other than Allah, this Surah is an indictment against them. This includes those who worship idols, Jesus or ‘Uzayr or the sun or moon or any other deity.
That Allah is the only one who deserves to be worshiped, the only one who has no colleagues, the only one who has no peer, the Almighty who has no assistants, the Unrivaled who has no rival, and the One Peerless who has no equal.
It is in Surah al-Ikhlaas that we find Allah’s true nature as revealed in the Quran. This Surah’s goal is to clear up any misunderstandings people may have regarding Allah. Tawheed replaces those misunderstandings with its basic reality.
In the event that someone reads this Surah and understands its meaning thoroughly, they are protected from shirk. Polytheism, or shirk, is the sole sin that cannot be forgiven in Islam.

it is He Who provides for their needs and heals them.” (Al-Bukhari)
