These instructions are designed for those who have the bare minimum of kitchenware; all you really need is a burner, two pots, a strainer, and a cookie sheet. Even though you should allow at least 6 hours for your infusion procedure to finish, once it is set up and functioning, you don't need to pay careful attention to it. In light of this, be sure to schedule enough time at home to complete this, after which you can pass the time by engaging in other hobbies (or even taking a nap!)

What You Require

To make your Olive Oil Infused With CBD, you obviously need CBD Olive Oil and hemp flower, but you also need equipment, so let's quickly go through what you need to have in your kitchen before you begin this project.

You Only Need The Bare Necessities, Which Are As Follows:

Grinder: vital for properly processing your hemp flower before infusion Cookie sheet: needed for decarboxylating your hemp flower. If you don't have a double boiler, place a smaller pot over a bigger one that has water simmering in it as a substitute. You can also use cheesecloth, but if you want to do this frequently, you should invest in a nice strainer. Fine Mesh Strainer (5.5" Diameter:  ideal for separating the oil-soaked plant material from the cannabinoid-infused olive oil; otherwise, you can use cheesecloth.

Additionally Advantageous But Not Required Are:

Use a tiny kitchen scale to weigh the hemp flower you are adding to get more accurate measurements. A basic food thermometer can be used to periodically monitor the heat level of your CBD Olive Oil.

Ingredients

Extra Virgin CBD Olive Oil, 1 cup

Urban Xtracts Hemp Shake/Trim, 1/2 ounce

Alternately, you can choose to use 1/4 ounce of Urban Xtracts Hemp Smalls instead of a 1/2 ounce shake/trim option; you only need 1/4 ounce because the smalls have around 25% more CBD and about twice as much terpene content. A flavor that is more characteristic of the strain utilized in the infusion process will be produced by the additional terpenes contained in the smalls.

Directions

You must ground up your hemp buds in order to prepare them if you plan to use smalls. You can use a hand grinder, but if you plan to do this frequently, we suggest buying an electric herb grinder (many people find coffee grinders do an excellent job of pulverizing hemp buds). If you select a shake/trim strain, you are prepared to go to the following stage. You must decarboxylate your hemp before mixing it with the CBD Olive Oil. (By doing so, the less potent CBDa gets changed into the CBD you are accustomed to taking.) Put a sheet of parchment paper on a baking sheet, preheat the oven to a low temperature (about 250 °F), and distribute your hemp evenly over the paper. Place for 15 to 20 minutes in the oven. The hemp won't burn at this low of a fire, but it will brown and get a little crispy. In the top section of the double boiler, blend the decarboxylated hemp with the CBD Olive Oil (or in the top pot of two pots; the bottom pot holds the water). As you warm up the bottom of your double boiler, this should be set aside. Boiling and simmering are accomplished in a double boiler. Attach the double boiler's top section. NOTICE: In order to perform the infusion process, indirect heat should be created rather than the simmering water in the bottom pan reaching the bottom of the top part.

The Infusion Process, Which Should Take Six Hours, Begins Here.

Check on your mixture roughly every 60 or 90 minutes. Make sure that the water in the lower portion of your double boiler isn't evaporating away most crucially; if it is, add more water, bring it back to a boil, and then reduce the heat to a simmer. You can check the temperature of your oil with a thermometer; it will likely be between 140 and 160 F. Even though all the infusion needs are heat and time, swirling the pan or stirring your mixture will just give you the impression that you are making a significant contribution. The infusion process should be finished in around 6 hours. When you can handle the pot with just your bare hands, remove the top portion of the double boiler from the heat source.

Pour your infused liquid through your strainer (for extra-fine straining, insert a swatch of cheesecloth inside the strainer) and into a measuring cup (or similar container) that is at least 1 cup in size. (You can see how much oil was lost during the infusion process by pouring it into a measuring cup; there should be about 2/3 to 3/4 of a cup of CBD Olive Oil left.) Pour your Olive Oil Infused With CBD mixture into a chic crystal cruet or similar suitable serving vessel after discarding the spent hemp material.
