Only every third woman pays for Vibrating Panties attention to the erotic factor when buying lingerie / 42 percent wear the comfortable “Brigitte” combination / Nevertheless: lace lingerie and colored lingerie are increasing.

Twenty-two Vibrating Panties and 11 bras lie in the lingerie closet of the average woman. On average, women want to buy seven new Vibrating Panties and four bras a year.

 

In addition, feminine lace and colored lingerie are rising, especially in red and blue tones. Nevertheless: lingerie combinations with a relatively low erotic factor are still at the top of the women’s lingerie hit list.

Forty-two percent of all German women wear the practical and comfortable “Brigitte” panty/bra set. These are the results of the current TW consumer focus on lingerie, a representative survey commissioned by the industry magazine TextilWirtschaft and carried out by the market research institute IMAS.

“Erika” – the panty with a support bra is owned by 39 percent of women. This puts it in second place on the laundry hit list.

And “Karin” – the innocent shirt made of cotton – is worn by 37 percent of all women. Only in 4th place is the feminine lace bra/panty set “Christine,” a lingerie combination that makes men’s hearts beat faster.

These differences in tastes between the sexes when it comes to women’s lingerie probably also explain why only 32 percent of wives make sure that their partner also likes the new lingerie when buying lingerie.

It also explains why most women prefer to go shopping alone without a partner. However, the preferences for certain underwear are strongly dependent on age:

Up to the mid-40s, women pay much attention to attractiveness when buying lingerie. After that, the comfort aspect dominates.

Even among younger women up to 30, it is only essential to around every second woman that the new lingerie is seductive and emphasizes their feminine charms. On the other hand, men are knitted more simply: whether young or old – men like feminine lace underwear with a high erotic factor.

Twelve percent of all German women wear push-up bras, and 21 percent wear thongs. However, among those under 30, almost every second wears thongs under tight trousers, and every fourth person shows off their cleavage better with push-up bras. Conversely, at least 6 percent of all women wear what is known as a minimizer – i.e., a bra that makes the breasts appear smaller.

Women want to shell out 8 euros for their new Vibrating Panties and 17 euros for bras. Despite all the lamentations about the euro, these are significantly higher prices than two years ago. However, almost every second woman often buys lingerie as a special offer. Which probably significantly lowers the fees paid in retail.

At first glance, most women are pretty satisfied with the underwear range available in stores. However, the larger the required cup sizes are, the more often complaints are made about a lack of suitable and beautiful bras selection.

And Almost every second person complains about an often overloaded and confusing range of lingerie in retail. Last but not least: Although the tastes of men and women often differ when it comes to lingerie, only a tiny minority of the more vigorous sex dares to please their loved one with beautiful lingerie.

Only every sixth husband gives his wife a lovely bra, Vibrating Panties, or bodysuit, at least occasionally.

The study is based on a confidential survey of 2003 men and women aged 16 and over. It took place in June and July 2002. The results will be published in the Thursday, November 21, 2002, issue of TextilWirtschaft.
