TEN REASONS I RECOMMEND MACs OVER PCs
Apple's greatest strength is that it creates all of its own software & hardware. This gives companies the ability to create a computer system and suite of apps that are specifically designed and optimized for the Mac. Apple can also design new Mac machinery based on the software it is currently working on. In fact, Apple has designed all of its software & hardware to work in unison.

TEN REASONS I RECOMMEND MACs OVER PCs

There is an ongoing debate over whether Macs are "better" than PCs. Of course, "better" is a subjective concept; for example, while Macs are generally recognized to be simpler to use if you're a lengthy Windows user, the first time you come to in front of a Mac, it won't seem that way.

In any situation, here is a list of distinguishing features... If nothing else, these are compelling reasons to consider purchasing a Mac.

1. Macs are actually less expensive in the long run.

Sure, users can get a Windows PC for less money upfront. However, the true cost of owning should be measured not only on the purchase price but also on the sales price after you sell or trade it in. The difference in these two figures is what really tells you how much your computer ends up costing to own. When the cost of ownership is calculated in this manner, Macs easily win. All you have to do is measure the value of a three-year-old Windows PC (which is often close to zero) to what you can get for your three-year-old Mac. It's almost always a no-brainer.

2. Macs are easier to buy than PCs.

We were trying to shop for a PC just to compare prices, and after about 15 minutes, our eyes glazed over. When you have so many options, not only in terms of manufacturers, but also in terms of bells and whistles, speeds, and sizes, it's nearly impossible to know if you're getting the right, or best, deal. With the Mac, you can quickly narrow it down and be assured that you're getting the well and well-respected product, including being loaded with a slew of great software that you'd have to buy separately on a PC. Furthermore, there is no comparison to PowerMax in the PC world. Our knowledgeable and friendly staff is eager to assist you throughout the entire process.

3. In general, Apple MacBooks gets it right when it makes an assumption with its software, whereas Microsoft oftenly gets it wrong.

Obviously, this is subjective, but when you run Microsoft's software, even though on a Mac, it loves to interfere, assuming what you've been doing and trying to stay one step ahead. Most of the time, however, it is simply irritating. For example, if you type a "1)" in Entourage or Word, the next part of the sentence will start with a "2)" even if you don't want it to. Most people spend so much time correcting their assumptions that they do benefit from them... Microsoft is notorious for getting in the way.

4. Viruses

While this has shifted slightly as Apple has made gains on Microsoft, Mac users continue to enjoy a state of bliss due to the absence of viruses, spyware, and malware. We're not trying to say they can't get them; it's just that Mac users have a much easier time of it than Windows users.

5. The Cloud and the Time Machine

Not nearly as many people backup their storage devices (though everyone should), but Apple's Time Machine helps make it so elegant and easy that all you will need to do is connect a drive and turn Time Machine on. And this is not just a backup; you can go back in time and find a record you accidentally deleted. Apple is also assisting with backups through the use of iCloud, which is especially useful in this age of people using different devices, such as the iPhone and iPad.

6. When something goes wrong...

The software is created by Microsoft. The Windows PC is manufactured by Dell, Sony, HP, and a seemingly infinite number of other companies. Then there are third-party drivers and whatever else is required for all the peripherals. When there is a problem, everyone blames everyone else. When it comes to the Mac, the problem is more often than not solely with Apple. Of course, any PowerMax customer who's ever had an inquiry or a problem can affirm to the friendly expertise we provide to help them sort it all out.

7. While Apple makes upgrading its operating system simple, Microsoft continues to make it difficult.

Apple seamlessly upgrades its customers to the most recent version of its operating system for free. Windows can't even come up with a consistent naming scheme: there are versions 7, 8, XP, Vista, CE, NT, 98, and 2000. The best we can say is that their dispersed tactic to naming mirrors their dispersed strategy to their operating system.

8. Microsoft is for those who enjoy tinkering with computers, whereas Apple is for those who simply want to get their work done.

What's true is that Microsoft handles back-end, HTTP types of things well because it's in the "land of the geeks," who absolutely adore to dig into the machines and equipment and tinker with all the configurations and acknowledge all the acronyms. People like Window panes on the front end even though they recognize all of the computer system's crazy complexities and complications. Apple isn't as well-known in the IT world, which is fine because its front-end user experience for "the rest of us" doesn't involve us being computer wizards to get things done.

9. Let's face it: Apple knows how to look well

Although there are a zillion different styles of PCs available, almost everyone agrees that now the style, classiness, and "hipness" of the Mac is still to be surpassed. They simply look cool. Most interestingly, because they can avoid the "I can make things affordable" debate in the PC world, Apple's value is unrivaled.

10. You can already run Windows on a Mac, so why not have the best of both worlds?

Apple's Boot Camp software allows users to download Windows, or you can use a 3rd virtualization software such as Parallels, VMWare Fusion, or VirtualBox. So why not save money over the long term while also having it available in virtually any desktop application you desire?
