After 31 years as the most popular breed, the Exotic cat has dethroned the Persian cat. Some cat associations call the Exotic (also known as the Exotic shorthair) a cross between Persians and American Shorthairs.
With one exception: their coats, exotic cats are formed to meet the Persian rule in almost every way. Exotics, as opposed to Persians, have short, thick, dense coats, trying to make them popular with individuals who like the Persian character but don’t want the hassle or time required for daily pampering. Exotic personalities are similar to Persian personalities in that they are sweet, lovable, and playful. In comparison to other breeds of cats, exotic cats are more affectionate and loyal.
