Compostable vs biodegradable

If you are not sure about whether your plastic bag is compostable, you may want to ask the person at your store. Some bags are designed for composting, while others are designed for dry waste.

There are several other companies doing a similar thing, from Rok Cork to Asean, which manufactures private label and Stalkmarket brands, both of which use sugarcane bagasse as their primary material of choice.
Trader Joe's has made an effort to recycle its plastic grocery bags through its How2Recycle Store drop-off label, though this is a rather limited service. But for those who can't make the trip to their nearest retail outlet, there's always the option of turning your reusable bag in at your local municipal compost site.
