Hereat BubbleBrush, we are a truly independent business. It’s just us – a husband and wife team – twopeople wanting to make a change – with no big corporations insight.
Whiletravelling around Cambodia, we saw a TV floating in the middle of a pristineblue sea. It was then that we decided we had to help reduce the amount ofplastic used and discarded on a daily basis.
Comingfrom a dental background, thinking about disposable things we use every day, ofcourse, the obvious choice for us was to create a sustainable toothbrush!
Butbefore we tell you about the BubbleBrush, let’s take a look at whysustainability is so important.
Howdo we help?
Didyou know that 264 million plastic toothbrushes are thrown away in the UK eachyear? These toothbrushes end up in landfills, oceans, and marine animals.
Inthe US alone, 500 million pounds of toothbrushes are thrown away every year.That’s the equivalent weight of 100 jumbo jets! If laid end to end, thetoothbrushes thrown away would wrap around the earth four times.
Atan individual level, the average person replaces their toothbrush 300 times intheir lifetime. For a family of four, this adds up to 1200 brushes or 12kg ofplastic.
Makingplastic, to begin with, is harmful to the environment. Oil must be gatheredfrom the ground, refined, and then moulded. All in all, it is a veryenergy-intensive process for something that is used a few times before beingthrown away.

Whatis a BubbleBrush?
TheBubbleBrush is a sustainablekid’s toothbrush, comprising a compostable bamboo handle and recyclablebristles. With our products, the bamboo is grown, releasing clean oxygen,before being harvested and shaped. It’s as simple as that!
Butit’s not all about social responsibility! The handle is easy to grip for smallhands and is hygienic and antibacterial. Each sustainable kid’s toothbrush isengraved with a different animal, adding an element of fun to toothbrush timeand avoiding mix-ups between the children.
Thebristles come in a wide range of bright colours, the brush’s small head andsoft bristles helping to give teeth a thorough clean. Although the bristlesaren’t biodegradable, you can just pull them out and stick them in yourrecycling bin when it’s time to get a new toothbrush.
