Plastic disposal had been a major concern for everyone on this planet. Be it the polar bear residing at the hemispheres or the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, this problem is just at the tip of the iceberg. Very often we find animals; aquatic organisms suffer due to accidental ingestion of this polymer compound. The garbage dumps are filled with plastic scraps and to segregate them a definite initiative is required. In this article, the various processes involved in plastic recycling shall be discussed.
Machines involved in the recycling of plastics:
At every step of plastic recycling, there are many machines involved. Be it cleaning, shredding, drying, or melting, each process is operated by a separate machine that makes the entire process smooth and less tiresome.
Stepwise plastic removal process:
Collection of plastic scrap:
The foremost move in the business of recycling plastics is the collection of plastic scrap. This can be obtained anywhere from the scrap yard or from scrap dealers of the town. Little does it matter as to where did the plastic come from as it is then separated as per the grades of plastic. This is a manual and time-consuming process but once done, it becomes easier to for the plastic recycling process and it can be decided which grade of recycled plastic is available.
Passing through dust extractor:
The segregated plastics then move through the dust extractor chamber. Here the toughest dust particles are too removed by air cleaning. Most of the dirt is removed at this stage by the machine. Since most of the dirt is dry and present on the surface, they are easily dusted out with the air pressure. The tainted and the remaining dirt on the plastics are removed in the after shredding plastic washing machine.
Plastic shredding grinder:
After the dirt is removed, the plastics are passed through shredding machines. The shredding machine cut the plastics into smaller pieces. Smaller pieces of plastics help in better handling and recycling of the plastics. Also in broken pieces of plastics, the mud, filth, and other impurities are easy to remove and clean. These shredded parts are then put into the washing conveyor for further processing.
Washing conveyor:
Once the shredded plastics are poured into the washing conveyor, the plastic pieces are in water submerged by the blades of the conveyor machine. Usually, a conveyor machine is within the size range of 6 to 12 feet. The conveyor sways the plastic pieces to the other end. Once the broken plastic parts are brought to one end, it is collected manually into drums. The filled drums containing the plastic are again taken to the washing machine.
Washing machine:
The filled drums are emptied into the hoppers of the washing machine. Here, the plastic is completely washed again to generate clean plastic. On average 100kg of plastic can be cleaned by the washing machine each hour. The plastic produced is sufficiently clean in appearance but wet in nature. This cleaned but wet plastic is again transferred to the drying machine for removing the moisture content of the shredded plastics.
Plastic scrap drying machine:
In the plastic scrap drying machine, the shredded plastics are dried completely. The final outcome is dried plastic with no dirt. This is the best form of plastic that can be used for further processing. There is many Stainless Steel Plastic Scrap Dryer Machine that is durable and strong too. In many plastic companies, these machines are used to obtain good results. The role of the plastic scrap drying machine is quite important as it removes the moisture present.
Agglomerator:
Once the dried plastic I obtained, is passed on to the agglomerator machine. In the agglomerate machine, the plastics are further shredded into tiny particles. These tiny particles are ready for the recycling of plastics. Once the tiny particles are obtained, it is collected in huge containers. These containers are deployed to transfer the plastic particles again shifted near to the plastic melting chamber.
Plastic recycling m/c:
The plastic recycling machine consists of three different processes, at first the plastic particles are melted then the melted plastic particles are cooled by passing through water. At last, the cooled plastic is cut into granules. These plastic granules are required by plastic products manufacturing companies. It is even exported to other nations as per their demand and requirements.
Bottom line:
Plastic recycling is the only way out to prevent our planet from gloomy days. The excessive use of plastic in day to life has posed a grave concern to all organisms of the earth. The soil beneath our feet is now a storehouse of plastics and it takes millions of years to degenerate. Let us do our part by supporting the use of recycled products and giving encouragement for use of plastic recycling machines. It’s only then a brighter day can be hoped to touch our lives.
