World Mental Health Day 2021: The day is celebrated all over the world on 10 October every year.  This day is celebrated to increase awareness about mental health issues among people and to organize collaborative efforts for mental health.  It was started by the World Mental Health Association on 10 October 1992.  We know all the things about physical illness and get its treatment as well, but in today’s life mental illness comes to the fore as a big problem.  In fact, World Mental Health Day is celebrated on 10 October with the aim of making people sensitive and aware about mental health.

World Mental Health Day was first observed in the year 1992 at the initiative of Richard Hunter, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations and the World Federation for Mental Health.  After this, in the year 1994, after the suggestion of the then UN Secretary-General Eugene Brody, a theme was started to celebrate World Mental Health Day.  “Improving the quality of mental health services around the world” for the first time in 1994.
