This 10-day course effectively consistsof our five-dayintensive tiling course,followed by our five-day advanced tiling course in the UK.
Training in tiling via this particularcourse, however, will enable you to be trained and assessed in nofewer than four Cskills units, in relation to health and safety inconstruction trades, communicating effectively in constructiontrades, wall tiling and floor tiling.
As for the course content itself, you’llstart on Monday by learning about health and safety, before weproceed to train you in the preparation of surfaces and setting outthe tiling of kitchens. You’ll then be taught how to cut the tileswith a tile cutter and a tile wet cutter, set out for the feature,and tile the kitchen. Grouting will also be covered, before the firstday of the course is even over!
Over the rest of the first week, you’llreceive our renowned hands-on tuition in such tasks as siliconesealing, tiling around windows, marking and cutting tiles aroundobstacles such as basin pedestals and toilet waste pipes, anddrilling holes in tiles. You’ll also get to grips with how tomeasure and quote for customers, and the preparation, setting out andtiling of a bathroom floor.
Even with all of that taught in the firstweek, there will be much more to come in the second week. This willbe when you build your skills in such more advanced processes astiling with diamond inserts, tiling around a window inside and out,tanking, plunge cutting, diamond drilling around waste and supplypipes, and installing under-floor heating before tiling on top ofit.
