Optogenetics Is A Biological Method That Uses Light To Regulate Neurons Or Other Cells
Optogenetics

Optogenetics is an experimental approach to biological study that combines genetics and optics in technologies intended to control (by inducing or inhibiting) specific events in living animal tissue cells. Optogenetics Market, in contrast to other experimental techniques for light control, enables researchers to use light to turn cells on or off with incredibly fine resolution and precision (down to specific cells or even portions of cells) in living, moving animals. It is now now possible to influence certain biochemical processes with optogenetics in mammals that exhibit behaviour.

A family of chimeric single-component optogenetic tools was developed based on earlier work coupling vertebrate opsins to particular G-protein coupled receptors, allowing researchers to control the concentration of defined intracellular messengers such as cAMP and IP3 in targeted cells within behaving mammals. Other biochemical approaches to optogenetics (crucially, with tools that displayed low activity in the dark) soon followed.
