Blizzard entertainment has "experimented" using adaptations of World of Warcraft for mobile devices, but it isn't actively trying to bring the MMORPG to other platforms, production director J. Allen Brack told P2Pah today at WoTLK Gold.

"Mobile is something I think we're all excited about. We all have mobile devices. We all have tablets. It's a pretty ubiquitous experience today," Brack said.

"We've experimented with differents things [for World of Warcraft ] with tablets; we don't believe that this is the game that we believe to be ideal for tablet.' We're just keeping our eyes peeled for what the ideal experience would be," he added.

One of the main challenges when the transition of World of Warcraft to mobiles is adapting the interface, Brack said.

"The experience of interface is very challenging on tablet and very difficult on phone. The game wasn't designed to play on a phone or on a tablets," Brack said. "So there's more of an opportunistic idea which will arise before actually thinking about we're going to reproduce this World of Warcraft experience on tablets."

World of Warcraft may not be available on mobiles anytime shortly, but a second Blizzard game-- World of Warcraft --will be launched on Android as well as iOS this year, the company confirmed today.

Of course, 7.4 million is still lower then World of Warcraft 's peak number of subscribers of 12 million in 2010. However, it's an impressive number all the same for a title that's celebrating its tenth anniversary this year.
