A Variety Of Organic Compounds Are Synthesized From Chloroacetyl Chloride, One Of The Most Versatile Chemical Compounds
Chloroacetyl Chloride

The benzo[b][1,4]-thiazin-3(4H)-ones were synthesised by combining Chloroacetyl Chloride, substituted 2-chlorobenzenethiol, and primary amine in dry dimethylformamide at 150°C under MW for less than 20 minutes in the presence of cesium carbonate. In terms of yields, the results were excellent. The position of the chloro at the aromatic ring had no effect on the outcome of the reaction. The presence of an aryl or alkyl substituent at amine had no discernible effect on the reaction. The cesium carbonate/dimethylformamide system performed well, whereas using potassium carbonate instead of cesium carbonate or decreasing the cesium carbonate ratio resulted in reaction incompletion.
