Tractors in India
A tractor is a powerful machine used for Farming and Construction all over the world. In 1892, A blacksmith John Froelich invented the first gasoline-powered tractor.
British imported the first tractor in 1914 to India and after that when the war ended then some tractors have been imported into India. In 1959 Eicher introduced the first tractor and in 1962 Mahindra began manufacturing tractors along with that in this time period some more tractors brand came into the Indian market like Escorts, TAFE, Massey Ferguson, and HMT.
Now in India almost more than 25 national and international tractors companies are manufacturing tractors for the Indian market. In 2020-21 total tractors sales are around 1,000,000 and in 2013 it was 619,000 tractors in India which were 29% of the world.
